dear all,
powertop is meant for a mobile processor, would the PXA family classify?

has anybody here seen something similar is been put together for a gumstix?

That might well just work -- ARM has had the NO_HZ (and it's been turned on in the buildroot) for a while now.  This looks like a very neat project.
