hwclock giving wrong time

dtran11
I am getting the wrong time from "hwclock -r" about 70% of the time. If I keep calling it, it will eventually give me the correct time:

root@caps:~# hwclock -r
Wed Dec 31 23:59:59 1969  0.000000 seconds
root@caps:~# hwclock -r
Tue Oct 29 14:55:05 2013  0.000000 seconds
root@caps:~# hwclock -r
Wed Dec 31 23:59:59 1969  0.000000 seconds
root@caps:~# hwclock -r
Fri Oct 29 14:56:14 2027  0.000000 seconds

This only happens with the AM3703-based Gumstix. My OMAP3503-based Gumstix works perfectly. I am using a coin cell battery to keep the time. When it reports the correct time, it is the exact time. It just seems to fail a majority of the time. Is this a communication problem with the TPS65950 chip?

Thanks
