Ubuntu Image crashing with - Kernel BUG: spinlock lockup suspected on CPU#0

rdixey@comcast.net

Hello Ubuntu Users,

I am running the Ubuntu 15.04 - 8/26/16 pre-built image, Kernel 3.18.21-custom-g7cda973 on my Overo FireStorm & Turtlecore.

I have been experiencing the system hanging with error indicated as Kernel BUG - Examples: Spinlock lockup caused by process owner: systemd-network and another with Spinlock lockup caused by process owner: modprobe.

I have not been able to find any info about this as a known bug.

Can anyone give me advice on how to resolve this or if it is a known bug?

Would it make sense to move to the 10/19 pre-built image to find if resolved?

Re: Ubuntu Image crashing with - Kernel BUG at c0133100; BUG & spinlock lockup suspected on CPU#0

rdixey@comcast.net

Hello Gumstix Ubuntu Users,

After repeated system crash using the Ubuntu 15.04 - 8/26/16 pre-built image, I built a new SD with the Ubuntu 15.04 - 10/28/16 pre-built image and continue to experience the same problem.

Is anyone experiencing this problem with the Ubuntu 15.04 buildbot image?

Any suggestions on how to interpret the trace and troubleshoot this?

If you are using a previous Ubuntu 15.04 buildbot image and not experiencing this crash, please provide me the version so that I can fall-back and try it on my FireStorm?
