Network Booting on Gumstix Overo: Hang at "Starting Network connection manager daemon: NetworkManager."

JamesAng
Hi,

I tried Scott's "Network booting a Gumstix Overo" and managed to proceed till this point "Starting Network connection manager daemon: NetworkManager." when booting and it will wait there infinitely..

I'm using the factory releases v2.6.39 files from Gumstix.

An additional error was appended onto the screen with regards to WiFi..
---
libertas: failed to find firmware (-2)
libertas_sdio: probe of mmc1:0001:1 failed with error -2
---

Please advise.

Thanks in adv.

James.

Re: Network Booting on Gumstix Overo: Hang at "Starting Network connection manager daemon: NetworkManager."

Further to my test,

I booted via MMC and manually mount the NFS share via
"busybox mount 192.168.1.143:/exports/overo /mnt/nfs/"
and it succeed with
"svc: failed to register lockdv1 RPC service (errno 97)."

I can see the entire filesystem in the share point /mnt/nfs/

Anyone can help me solve this??

I duno why it keep hanging there at
"Starting Network connection manager daemon: NetworkManager."
"nfs: server 192.168.1.143 not responding, still trying "

when I try to boot from u-boot with the following bootargs

"console=ttyO2,115200n8 mpurate=600 vram=12M omapfb.mode=dvi:1024x768MR-16@60 omapdss.def_disp=lcd43 ip=192.168.1.142:192.168.1.143:192.168.1.1:255.255.255.0:overo1:eth0:both root=/dev/nfs rootfstype=nfs nfsroot=/exports/overo"

Hi,

Scott said to remove Network Manager from the recipe.
I didn't try that as I put in on KIV list.. (^^)

You might want to try it and feedback on this.

Thanks.
