MLO isn't built by omap3-console-image

Don Quixote de la Manvha
$ bitbake -k omap3-console-image

At the completion of the build I have the following files:

31536 Angstrom-omap3-console-image-glibc-ipk-2011.03-overo.rootfs.tar.bz2
53120 Angstrom-omap3-console-image-glibc-ipk-2011.03-overo.rootfs.ubi
    4 Angstrom-omap3-console-image-glibc-ipk-2011.03-overo-testlab/
52040 Angstrom-omap3-console-image-glibc-ipk-2011.03-overo.ubifs.img
 4220 modules-2.6.39-r102-overo.tgz
    4 omap3-console-image-overo.tar.bz2@
    4 omap3-console-image-overo.ubi@
    4 ubinize.cfg
  232 u-boot-overo-2010.12+r75+gitr261733408a27d14590cf3ec6b596461808050e32-r75.bin*
    4 u-boot-overo.bin@
 2848 uImage-2.6.39-r102-overo.bin
    0 uImage-overo.bin@

There are no files with "MLO" or "mlo" in their filename.  Was it not
built, is it not used anymore, or is it named something different.

Pardon me for being such a newbie.  When I get up to speed I should
have something to contribute!!

Re: MLO isn't built by omap3-console-image

Kartik Mohta
Just run
$ bitbake x-load
and it would be built.

I usually do "bitbake x-load;bitbake u-boot;bitbake omap3-XX-image" in order to get MLO, U-Boot, uImage and rootfs-tarball generated.

Greg Kogut
Per the below MLO is built by x-load, not by an "image" recipe.

Re: MLO isn't built by omap3-console-image

Greg Kogut
Your source URI is invalid.  My working version grabs from here:

http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/sources/git_gitorious.org.x-loader.x-loader.git_04b1732220078d47c18a84cbafc52e45db71f13d.tar.gz

...instead of the apparently defunct URI you have below.

This is not unusual.   At any given time I've found that about 1/5 of URI's are invalid, and I have to go hunt them down and update them manually.

Greg

I'm surprised that even Steve's repo failed?
Can you verify that your git is working behind your network & firewall?

Greg pointed out a good tip that there are occasional issue with getting the source with outdated recipes.

Re: MLO isn't built by omap3-console-image

raji
Hi,

Thanks all for the reply.
I am not very familiar with bitbake, git and overo.
I replaced the SRCREV_overo and SRC_URI_overo  (see below)  from Greg's URI
The modified x-load seems to build.
I have also set up the GIT_PROXY command. So I assume the firewall issue should be taken care of.

ORIGINAL x-load_git.bb
================================================================
SRCREV_overo = "30bedccc50a54836ddc1e1589417a48b13185110"
SRC_URI_overo = "git://www.sakoman.com/git/x-loader.git;branch=stable-v1.5.1;protocol=git"

MODIFIED x-load_git.bb
=================================================================
SRCREV_overo = "04b1732220078d47c18a84cbafc52e45db71f13d"
SRC_URI_REV = "git://gitorious.org/x-loader/x-loader.git;branch=master;protocol=git

Loading...
